This dressing is best for moderate to heavy exuding wounds. 100% Leptospermum scoparium honey from New Zealand impregnated into a pad of super absorbent polymers. Should be used on traumatic and contaminated wounds, sloughy wounds requiring autolytic debridement, superficial and partial thickness burns, pressure sores or surgical wounds. Used the AD dressings to treat a deep, exuding and proud wound on the front of a fore fetlock. To the astonishment of my vet & myself the result after a couple of weeks of treatment and compression bandaging was amazing!! Note of caution - my horse didn't like having them applied & my podiatrist sister (who also uses manuka honey on patients!) tells me that they can sting.
