Q & A

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding Johnson's Skin-eze Cream, including answers from our team.

Safe for ears?

Joanne

My dog gets dry, crusty, itchy skin on his ears. The vet thinks it may be due to allergies, but we are still trying to identify the specific allergens. Would this cream be safe to use on the ears and would it help relieve the itch and dryness?

  • VioVet Staff

This cream will help soothe itchy or inflamed areas of skin and is safe to use on the ears. It should not be used down the ear canal itself though.
It is unlikely to prevent the itch and will just help soothe it so I recommend following your vets advice on treatment.

Lick safe?

Linda

Is this product safe to use on an area where a cat may lick it?

  • VioVet Staff

This product is safe for use on areas where your pet may lick, however if your cat is licking the product completely off then I don't advise using this. In high doses the sulfur content within can be toxic and the product will not have any beneficial effect if completely licked off.
If your pet has only ingested a very small amount of cream though then there should be no issues.
