Clinacin tablets contain the well proven veterinary antibiotic clindamycin. This antibiotic is used by many vets to treat infected wounds, abscesses, infections over the surface of the skin, and infections in the mouth and affecting the teeth. It is often used prophylactically prior to dental or oral surgery to provide antibiotic cover where this is thought to be needed. Clindamycin penetrates into bone effectively, so it is also used for some cases of osteomyelitis. The tablets are given either once or twice daily, according to the type of infection being treated.

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding Clinacin Tablets, including answers from our team.
Bert
Does the medication have to be taken with food
The datasheet does not state that this medication has to be taken with food. However you should follow your vets advice and give with food if they have recommended this.
Loretta
My vet said no dairy products with this antibiotic, is that correct ?
Clinacin does not have any specific contraindications regarding the use of dairy products alongside it, however I recommend following your vets advice closely. They may be wanting to rule out dairy as a cause of the symptoms your dog has.
Ron
Can Clinacin tablets be crushed and mixed with food.
Yes these tablets can be split and crushed into food.
Stacey
Can you crush these tablets and put in food?
It would be better to just split them in half if your pet will eat them so that you do not waste any of the antibiotic or lose any efficacy but you can crush them and put them into the food if there is no other option- it is better to do this than nothing at all. However there is a liquid form of this antibiotic called Zodon which you could ask your vet about.
