Ceporex Vet contains cefalexin, a broad spectrum antibiotic widely used for soft tissue infections in dogs and cats. Antibiotic sensitivity testing is used where possible to confirm that Ceporex is active against the bacteria involved in any particular infection. However its broad spectrum of activity and ability to get into a wide variety of body tissues, means that Ceporex is a good choice of antibiotic for a wide range of infections even without laboratory confirmation. It is normally dosed twice daily in dogs and cats, at a dose rate of 15-30mg/kg bodyweight.

Usually it is best to leave her alone with the puppies and she will allow them to start to suckle. Unless there are clear signs of infection, there is no reason to give her antibiotic. Ideally your vet should check her over to ensure there is no medical problem present.
