I came across this handy amazing product by researching online about canine conjunctivitis and what the best / cheaper alternatives were after my dog suffered with this condition.
I can honestly say, this product worked amazingly - after a few days, although it was very smelly, there was a massive improvement. I carried on using this product until I had finished the bottle, and now, my dog has no sign of the horrible 'pink eye' or the discomfort he suffered with it.
This is a very versatile product and is not only fab for canine conjunctivitis
It's also great for appetite and joint mobility esp in older dogs.

Itchy

Paula

My dog has over the last month developed itchy skin the vet suggests it’s a grass pollen allergy would this product help alleviate the itching he’s so miserable

  • VioVet Staff

This product can help support your dog's general health, including the skin. However it is unlikely to stop itching related to allergies as you describe. I recommend seeing your vet to have this investigated and treated.

The Mother

Does this particular ACV contain "The Mother" ?

  • VioVet Staff

The manufacturer has not provided us with that information but given the clear appearance of the vinegar I would suggest that it has been pasteurized and filtered. The unrefined vinegars are usually cloudier in appearance.

Help! my 15 month old dalmatian has hot spots on head and itches her eye/head until they bleed

Anita

I have a 15 month old dalmatian who had atopic dermatitis, she has been on steroids with horrible side effects and I would really like to find an alternative. She has hot spots on her head, above her eyes and near her ears and she will scratch until she bleeds. I have heard acv may help? Any advice would be very helpful xx

  • VioVet Staff

There is no harm in trying this product but for a condition as serious as atopic dermatitis, it is unlikely to make much difference regrettably. There is a very effective prescription drug called Apoquel which will be back on the market in a few months and this has proved to be remarkably effective with no significant side effects for most dogs. You should talk to your own vet about this when it becomes available (later this year). Until then I would suggest mild, medicated shampoos containing oatmeal and perhaps the lowest dose of steroids you can get away with. Cider Apple Vinegar can be used but is not usually effective for this particular condition.
