My cats are not that keen on the size of these, too small. The positive to that is they eat less.

Before he had Royal Canin He could not put on any weight, my vet did bloodtests and recomended gastrointestinal cat food , the cattery were not happy with him because of the smell! Since he has been on Royal Canin he has put on weight, there is no waste at all, and a much reduced smell from his litter tray, I would reccomend it for anyones cat with intestinel problems.

Do you do a bigger bag than 4kg

  • VioVet Staff

Hello Ann,

Thank you for your question.

The 4kg bag is the largest we sell unfortunately.

Sorry about that.

Feeding Gastro Intestinal long term

Chris Lamb

My Cat was diagnosed last year with ulcerative colitis, and has had runny smelly stools ever since. Nothing has changed that until I tried GI 32 and in the last 2 weeks she has near normal stools, can I feed it long term? Also my other cat 'steals' it when he can from her, he is fine. will this food be ok for him, it won't hurt him in any way?

  • VioVet Staff

Marvellous result I would say. It is perfectly safe for both your cats to eat this food and nothing else except water. If it continues to work, then that is what I would do.

Little Pancreatic Function

Michelle

Our cat had an operation to remove a cyst. The vet reported that she had very little pancreatic function and put her on Lypex. She has recently refused to take the Lypex grains. She used to take them on thin, low fat, chicken slices, but now is not interested. Would GI32 be a good food to give to her, perhaps in place of Lypex?

  • VioVet Staff

Lypex is normally given after blood and faecal tests have demonstrated that the natural levels of enzymes are too low. I am not sure if your cat really needs them or not. If additional enzyme supplementation is indicated, there are alternative products which can be used for this, such as Pancrex powder. If the enzymes are not really needed then I would abandon them and just feed whatever diet suits your cat. The Royal Canin GI 32 might well be very suitable. Ideally discuss this with your vet and perhaps give it a try.

Does this food contain taurine

Diane w

My ragdoll has EPI and someone has just told me that I need to be supplementing her with taurine as this food doesn't contain it?

  • VioVet Staff

There is always someone who will say something. This diet is carefully made up to include all essential nutrients and it will certainly provide fully adequate levels of taurine. You do not need to worry.
