Noropraz Horse Wormer is a broad spectrum supplement which combines two highly effective ingredients. Eliminates all major horse parasites including arterial stages of the Tapeworm, large Redworm, bots and Lungworm in a single dose.
Noropraz oral paste for horses is given by mouth at the recommended dose rate of 200 micrograms of ivermectin and 1.5mg of praziquantel per kg of bodyweight as a single dose, corresponding to 1.07g of paste per 100kg bodyweight. The first syringe division delivers sufficient paste to treat 50kg of bodyweight. Each subsequent syringe division delivers sufficient paste to treat 50kg of bodyweight. The syringe delivers sufficient paste to treat 700kg bodyweight at the recommended dose rate.
The presence of worms can be checked in your horse using a Worm Testing Kit.

Hi.
We had our cob tested for tapeworm. The result came back with a saliva score of 2.27 and the comment that the burden was 'moderate/high'. Treatment is recommended. Reading up on it in rare cases horses with large tapeworm burdens can colic after treatment so I am wondering what the best course of action is now.
If your saliva test has returned positive like this then you should treat for tapeworm. Colic is a very rare possibility when worming in any situation. If there are large worm burdens then the possibility of this is a little higher but still low.
If you are concerned then you are best reaching out to your vet to be certain, but if your test has returned like this then treating for tapeworm is the best and advised course of action.

Can I give Noropraz wormer to my donkeys?
Whilst Noropraz may be safe for use in donkeys, it is not licensed for use in donkeys. Therefore you will need a written prescription from your vet to purchase it with us for your donkey.
You can purchase donkey licensed wormers though such as Panacur, Eqvalan and Strongid-P.

A lot of wormers day double dose for tape worm but canāt see that on the Naropraz info, so the question do you double dose with this one?
Wormers containing Pyrantel can be given as a double dose to worm against tapeworms, this includes examples such as Strongid-P, Pyratape-P or Embotape. Noropraz is combination wormer that contains ivermectin and praziquantel, the praziquantel will treat tapeworms and does not need to be given at a double dose to do this.

I have a lot of horses to treat for tapeworm, I dont do worm counts but treat spring and autumn. Can you tell the my cheapest option please ideally in a siingle dose
This depends on the weight of your horses. If ponies (300kg or less) then a double dose of Embotape will be the cheapest method as you will only need 1 syringe per horse for this. If heavier then combination wormers like Noropraz will be your most affordable option. Unfortunately there are no 'tapeworm only' wormers on the market.
We recommend testing for worms with a worm egg count and for tapeworms with a saliva test rather than just worming anyway. If you have a large herd then you can save a lot of money this way, many of your horses may not need worming at all. Testing also reduces the chance of wormer resistance building in your horses.
