Hello . I was thinking of using two of these cages combined with a tube for a hamster. Do you think the plastic will be able to hold a piece being cut out and do you know weather silicone is safe for hamsters. Thanks.
Very difficult to cut these without them splitting. Silicone is very safe in fact, but adheres badly to this type of plastic I think. Solvent cement normally used. Why not buy a hamster cage?

First of all I was wondering what this is made of... Glass or plastic . Also how many square inches is the floor space as I was thinking of making a temporary hamster home with it.
This product is made entirely of plastic. The floor sizes are given in cm, but they work out at roughly 18" by 12" for the large, and 14" by 8" for the medium.
