This is the second pouch I’ve bought for my friends 17 year old super healthy arthritic cat. He is struggling to jump up now but this makes walking easier in our opinion.

It took a few days before I noticed a difference in my cat going up the stairs, but I’ve seen a definite improvement today which is brilliant news especially as she’s 15-years old, and the last 3-4 stairs going up were getting a real struggle for her, but since yesterday (6.8.20) there’s an improvement.

Great product, very digestible, tastes good as my very fussy cats don't seem to notice it when mixed in with their meat

Q & A

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding GWF Nutrition Joint Aid For Cats, including answers from our team.

Mixed with water

Sue

  • VioVet customer since 2020
  • From: Northamptonshire, United Kingdom

My cat is so fussy and will refuse anything he's not sure of, can I mix these granules with water then syringe into his mouth?

  • VioVet Staff

Yes you can do this however it may be difficult to mix as it is not intended to be mixed in water. I recommend trying out our Joint Force Chews for Cats instead as these are palatable and can be taken as treats.

Can this be fed alongside yumove

Danni

Can I give this to my senior cat as well as the yumove capsules he is already on?

  • VioVet Staff

Yes this can be safely used alongside YuMove. However they both contain very similar ingredients and you will be probably unecessarily doubling up on some of these. Giving extra of these ingredients should cause no harm though and in some animals with significant joint disease a higher dose can actually be beneficial.

How many capsules ?

LJ

It states 250g, but you haven't said how many tablets or capsules in it.

  • VioVet Staff

This product comes in a powder not tablets or capsules. The recommended feeding guideline is 2g (1 measure) a day. The measure is included in the tub.

Starting Age ?

Vanessa

  • VioVet customer since 2015
  • From: Hampshire, United Kingdom

At what age would you recommend starting cats with 'GWF Nutrition Joint Aid For Cats' ?? My cat has no mobility problems, but I was thinking this may be good as a Prevention ?

  • VioVet Staff

This supplement can be fed to all cats regardless of age or level of exercise. It would be a good one to start with. There is no solid clinical evidence to say how effective joint supplements are but many people report good results. Most people start their animals on joint supplements once they see signs of wear and tear which is a good idea. However by starting early you may reduce the onset of any stiffness or arthritic joints later in your cats life.
