Description

Equimins Vitamin E & Selenium supplement contains Vitamin E at 50,000 mg/kg and organic selenium at 25 mg/kg for horses in serious training. It will help to provide an increased amount of oxygen to the lungs after strenuous exercise. It will also help eradicate free radicals because of its anti oxidant qualities. A very advanced form of selenium is used in this supplement in the form of selenomethionine. It is very much more digestible for a horse than ordinary sodium selenite, and makes a big difference to muscle function.

Recommended Storage temperature : 10 - 20 degrees C.

Always replace lid after use.

Free from any prohibited substances as defined under Jockey Club and FEI rules.

Sugar in Vit E supplement?

ann

Dear,
My horse is insuln resistant, I want to know if your supplement is on a sugar basis? thank you

  • VioVet Staff

I have spoken with the manufacturers, Equimins, who have advised that this supplement does not contain sugar so should be perfectly fine for your horse.

Correct product

I have obtained a 3 year old now gelding, from a place that has ground lacking in selenium and all the youngsters are on vit e. He also received an injury as a yearling.

  • VioVet Staff

This supplement is ideal for horses lacking in Vitamin E and Selenium. I would use this product or Equistro Excell E. You could also ask your vet to do a blood test to check your horses levels of Vitamin E so that they can advice an appropriate dose.

Yearling

Pat

  • VioVet customer since 2016

Hi I have a yearling filly that has grown quite tall but narrow, I watched her in the field the other day and was a bit concerned about her coordination ( warbler??). I have brought her in to limit excercise and was wondering if this is a good or the most suitable supplement to maybe help her?
Thank you

  • VioVet Staff

If your filly is on a good balanced diet then she should be getting enough Vit E and Selenium in her diet. However, if you think she could be deficient I would start her on this supplement straight away and get your vet to examine her as soon as possible. In a quick growing, big filly Wobbler syndrome is probably more likely than a vit e deficiency. I would again get your vet to examine her. An x-ray of her neck may be required as part of the investigation.

Junior stallion

  • VioVet customer since 2013
  • From: Greater Manchester, United Kingdom

I'm thinking of feeding this to help a young stallion cope with covering mares in his first season, do you think it will help? Thanks

  • VioVet Staff

It is difficult to say how useful this will be for your individual horse. If your stallion's diet is at all deficient in either of these nutrients, then this supplement could make a huge difference. If the diet is fully adequate in this regard then this supplement will provide an extra anti-oxidant effect but probably nothing else. The benefits of anti-oxidants are genuine but difficult to quantify, so I am not sure how much you will notice from one day to the next. Generally with this sort of thing my advice is that where the supplement is safe and not going to cause any harm, you have to try it and judge the results for yourself. Do not give more than the recommended amount if you do try it.
