Description

An Elizabethan collar designed for cats, dogs and small animals in soft but durable fabric. Unlike other collars, the SoftE absorbs noise making it very well tolerated.

  • Effective barrier to self-trauma
  • Washable
  • Well tolerated

The SoftE Smart Collar is made of padded fabric and provides an effective barrier to licking or pulling at sutures or self-trauma of wounds. The material is uncoated non-woven fabric, which is non-allergenic, non-toxic and water resistant. The fabric protects furniture and owner’s legs whilst allowing the free movement of the patient’s head and neck so that they can walk, eat, drink and sleep in comfort aiding a quick recovery. Very simple to use, it features a drawstring design enabling a precise and secure fit. Unlike traditional Elizabethan collars, the SoftE Smart Collar is flexible, lightweight, folds flat for easy storage and springs back into shape when needed. Ideal for use in practice, this collar doesn’t bang or bash against kennels or cages. It absorbs noise and making it very well tolerated by ophthalmic, aural, nasal and other head sensitive patients.

I purchased this Collar as it would be more comfortable for my dog as she had a cancer removed from her lip , it has worked very well, but would not trust it to protect any area around back end

My cat was hit by a car and was looking for an alternative to the buster collar the vet sent him home in, considering he was going to be wearing it for weeks. By using this, I may as well have not used anything. It’s not rigid at all. It’s like having a handkerchief tied round his neck. I ended up using the original buster collar and wishing I hadn’t wasted my money on this one 👎

Tried various methods of stopping cariad from licking her hot spot but she just freaked out. This collar is perhaps not quite as effective as a plastic cone but it does quite well. Perhaps I should have purchased a larger collar but Cariad is happy wearing it and it does prevent licking most of the time.

This is a good soft collar for my cat when she has a need for them. Better than the hard plastic ones.

Sizing cats v dogs

lynne weston

if collars are universal (for cats, dogs rabbits etc) then a small or medium size would suit my 8 year old av size tabby cat

  • VioVet Staff

You will very likely need the extra small or small collar size for your cat (size 1 or 2). You will need to measure their neck circumference and the length from the neck to just beyond the muzzle to work out which is most suitable. The size guide is below, you should add 1cm or so to the measurements you take as the collar shouldn't sit too tightly.

Size 1 Neck 24cm / Length 10cm
Size 2 Neck 31cm / Length 14cm
Size 3 Neck 40cm / Length 16cm
Size 4 Neck 50cm / Length 20cm
Size 5 Neck 53cm / Length 24cm
Size 6 Neck 40cm / Length 32cm (suitable for greyhounds & lurchers)

Is there a size that would fit dwarf rabbit-mini rex with 2.8 lbs?

  • VioVet Staff

I recommend measuring the length of your rabbit's neck to work this out:
Sizes available, comes flat: Size 1 (xs): Neck 24cm, Length 10cm
Size 2 (s): Neck 31cm, Length 14cm Size 3 (m): Neck 40cm, Length 16cm
Size 4 (l): Neck 50cm, Length 20cm Size 5 (xl): Neck 53, Length 24cm
Size 6 (greyhound): Neck 40cm, Length 32cm

The 'Neck' size is the circumference around the neck and the length is from where the collar would sit on the neck to the distance beyond the muzzle.
However it is extremely likely your dwarf rabbit would need an extra small collar based on the size of the average netherland dwarf.

How do I measure my dog to make sure order the right size?

Sue G

I have adopted a medium sized dog, who was injured before I got, her and has had to have two ops. my vet thought she had been shot with a pellet gun before coming to England from Rumania, she is over weight as she was unable to exercise much for approx two years. Now she has had a cancerous cyst removed from her neck about 1inch behind her left ear,and has to wear a cone collar. I want to get her a Soft-E-collar but don't know how to measure it.

  • VioVet Staff

Hello Sue,

Thank you for your question.

To measure the size of the Soft-E-Collar best suited to your dog, you will need to measure around their neck. The sizing chart is available in the description of the product to determine the right size for their neck circumference.

I hope this helps.
