Description

During the summer months flies can cause a problem, whether it just be discomfort for the horse or biting flies which can spread disease and cause rashes and lumps. Think Fly from Brinicombe Equine provides a broad spectrum of vitamins and minerals which meet the needs of a horse kept at grass, and create an invisible, shield-like effect around the horse to provide them with constant comfort from fly nuisance.

The feeding method of Think Fly Lick should give your horse full access so they can help themselves to everything they need 24 hours a day. Think Fly Granules are dust free and can be safely added to any combination of feed or supplements.

Reaction to think fly

Elizabeth Nicholson

  • VioVet customer since 2016
  • From: Shropshire, United Kingdom

I mistakenly bought think fly rather than think itch that my horse had been taking with some success as she suffers from mild sweet itch. Whilst hacking my horse seems to have developed an increase skin sensitivity which is seen through increased skin shivers. I am not sure if this is due to changing the products and if I should go back to using Think itch???

  • VioVet Staff

Sweet itch is a hypersensitivity reaction of your horse to the saliva of cullicoides (midges). Both Think fly and Think itch are thought to have fly detering properties. However only Think itch theoretically targets your horses immune response making her less itchy. This could be why your horse has more sensitive skin at the moment. I would advise going back to using Think itch and see if her skin sensitivity improves. If your horse continues to be uncomfortable I would advise seeking further advice or having a visit from your vet.
