My dog really wouldn’t go near his food when I used Drontal tablets, even when they were crushed up, but these were far less fuss! With a bit of persuasion he ate all his food, so I know he had the full dose instead of the others where it might take a couple of days and 3 tablets to be sure of getting 2 inside him.

As to how effective they are at their job, I can only assume they’re good. No obvious side effects, maybe he was a bit sleepy early pm but restless at night, but fine next day.

Worming tablets

derek

when is the best time to give my dog tgese tablets

  • VioVet Staff

It is advised to routinely worm every 3 months as standard, or monthly if your pet is in a household with immunocomprimised individuals (e.g. young or elderly) and is a scavenger.
The wormer can be given any time of day, whenever is most convenient.

No, this product does not cover the treatment of lungworm. You must visit a vet for the treatment of the common lungworm in the UK.

How many tablets are there in each pack will it be enough for two dogs.

  • VioVet Staff

Hi Lesley,

There are four tablets in each box. 1 tablet treats 10kg bodyweight, so you would need to weigh both your dogs and then calculate how many tablets would be needed.

Dog wormers

joan

hi I have recently bought these tablets but no instructions in packet or on packet itself it says 3-1 but there is two individual packets in box so how many tablets do I give my dog and do I give both packets same time or wait so many days inbetween
she is a springer spaniel any advice is welcome

  • VioVet Staff

3 in 1 refers to there being 3 ingredients in any one tablet. The dose is 1 tablet per 10kg bodyweight. The average springer would weigh 20kg so you would need to give 2 tablets every 3 months, unless she is a particular scavenger then you should dose up to once a month.

how many tablets would i need to use on a 70kg dog what is the ration per kilo

  • VioVet Staff

Unfortunately this product is intended only for dogs up to 40kg. The dose is 1 tablet per 10kg bodyweight. I would suggest Drontal Plus XL tablets as an alternative- your dog would need 2 of these.
