Q & A

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding Battles Horse & Cattle Fly Repellent Liquid, including answers from our team.

Is this safe for use on dogs

Zena Thomas

Can you use this on dogs ears as mine are being badly bitten by horse cattle flies

  • VioVet Staff

I have contacted the manufacturer who have advised the following:
It is only for horses and cattle, so we can not say that it is safe for dogs.

Therefore we unfortunately cannot advise it's use on your dog. There are fly protectants available for dogs though which I advise using instead, such as Scalibor.

Is this the same?

Kiki

I wanted to know if this product has the same ingredients as Deoscet?

  • VioVet Staff

This formulation contains DEET and PMD whilst Deosect contains Cypermethrin. These are different ingredients.
