Hilton Herbs Mud Defender has been formulated to support a horse's natural resistance to mud-dwelling bacteria. It contains Omega 3 & 6 to support the epidermal layer integrity, strength, condition and resistance. Amino acids are used for Keratin production to form the first line of defence in the hair and skin, while Vitamin B and Zinc also help with the synthesis.
Cooked Linseed Meal, Brewers Yeast, Garlic, Kelp (Ascosophyllum nodosum), Calendula flowers, Echinacea Root, Liquorice root.
Our herbal supplements should be added to normal feed on a daily basis with the recommended amount being split between two feeds. Introduce gradually as with any new feed or supplement and build up to the maximum amount for your horse or pony's height over a period of several days. Allow 3-4 weeks for the herbs to be completely absorbed by the animal's system.
The quantity of product added to your horse or pony's feed can be slightly increased or decreased, depending on the circumstances as, like humans, all horses & ponies are individuals. Very often a lower maintenance amount, will be sufficient for a horse or pony that is going to be kept on the herbs long-term.

My 20 year old Arabian has three white socks and has suffered with mud fever on one or more legs nearly every autumn of his life, normally as he changes coat. I have developed a successful strategy of dealing with the mud fever using phytobalm, colloidal silver and propolis and bandaging the affected areas daily but it still gives him several weeks of misery. Last year I started using Mud Defender when I saw the first spots of mud fever and it seemed to clear up more quickly. This year I have fed Mud Defender all year and hooray no mud fever. My horse and I thank you!
