The PIXI seems really well made. Not cheap but definitely good value for money. We have it in our hall between the kitchen and lounge and we don't hear it at all, except for an occasional bubble if the house is very quiet (no TV or general movement, etc). The blue light indicator system is discreet. We have it running 24/7 and it's never intrusive and has never run low on water. Our cat showed an instant interest but sadly isn't using it as much as we'd like. We think he has an issue with the speed the water runs out into the bowl and has difficulty drinking without getting his whiskers wet, which puts him off! We've seen another review where the person swivelled the jet to the side or back to help and we've also had to do this. If we have any criticism at all about the PIXI it's the rate the water flows at, it's a bit enthusiastic and it would be much better if it was slower; we think our cat would use it more too. Overall though we're very happy with it.

Good so far, I am still using the original filter that was supplied with the Catit Pixi Water fountain but thr filters look exactly the same as the original one.
